How to dry sports shoes after washing?

I washed my Puma sports shoes with detergent and left them outdoors to dry and now they have some yellow stains on the fabric net of the shoes. I think maybe detergent turned yellow after drying – which is strange. So I tried with car shampoo and got the same results. I cleaned them with again with only water but after drying the stain came back. What should I do?

stuff them full of newspaper to get them dry

Take the laces out and put everything in a white old pillowcase. Tie it off at the end. Wash with cold water on the gentle cycle. After the wash take them and place them in a cool dry place. Anywhere out of sunlight with air movement will be a good spot. Placing in front of a portable floor fan on low would be a great place. Stuff with newspaper if you want for the first few hours to absorb excess water. It might better to not use it at all so you can get as much air movement and ventilation as possible. They should be dry withing 24 hrs.

PS – NEVER put shoes in the dryer.
