What is the law about caring knifes in the Philippines?

I’m not afraid of the Philippines, but I carry a knife on me just about everyday I think it’s just a habit, and I like to have it on me just in case I need it. I like the outdoors and use my knife regularly so I’d like to bring it to the Philippines with, but I’m afraid customs will take it. So my question is, are tourist allowed to bring knives in their luggage, that is going to be stored under the plane?

Carry AS MANY knives as you can

wherever you are going, i seriously doubt if any airline or any airport would allow you to have a knife in your possession. much more, if you have knives in your carry-on luggage. NO WAY!

you should be able to take a knife in your checked baggage. so long as the knife isn’t illegal in the sate you’re flying out of.

Once a close friend brought me a set of kitchen knives from Germany – the good quality ones. The item where included in the checked in baggage.

There were no problem encountered both in the airline and in the customs at arrival.

In you case you will only bring a knife.

you can bring knives as long as you check them in… For carry on, no you cant…

there’s such a thing as collector’s knife set – those are okay to check in. but a pocket knife obviously for protection (or whatever), that’s a no – no – no!!!

You could be charge of “Concealling Deadly Weapon” if the blade of your knife exceed 4 inches in length.

leave your knife at home & buy new one in the philippines. look for “balisong 29″ made in batangas. the length of this knife is 29 inches when opened and about half when you close. it is so sharp, durable and hard and can punch a hole thru one peso coin at less effort in a single stab. a lot of tourist buy this as souvenir.

well, the answer is NO, you cannot have any kind of knife with you when you are travelling. I think that swiss army knife has been banned as well. But, if you are really scared, you can just buy a knife here, and the only rule about carrying a knife here, is, well, as long as youre not walking around with a knife in your hand, then its alright =)

THis is the Universal rule baby boy –

Nothing is illegal if you’re Smart enough not to get Caught.

but if you want to spend a lifetime with 50 persons on a 5×5 cubicle, then by all means carry it around you. Better carry extra money with you rather than a knife, it’s better to give than to receive, right?! with a knife, what you’ll get, is more stab wounds than you yourself can inflict on the person you intend to use that knife. with more money, what you get is a lovapalooza in the Phils., just be a Lover and not a Gangster.

don’t put it in your carry on luggage or they’ll take it away. you might even get in trouble.
