Texas gun shows.& Glock///. Are guns and ammo cheaper at gun shows?
March13
I am going to purchases the Glock 30, 45 acp—$559.99
and maybe the Glock 19 9mm—-$530.00
Those are the Academy(outdoors store) prices so far they are the best i can find anywhare in houston and San Antonio. I just wanted to know if guns shows have cheaper prices all the time or are they more expensive??
ALSO
I went to a gun show in Temple and most glocks were about that price. My husband got a smith and wesson for like 150.00 cheaper at the gun show.. so you may want to check out a gun show..
I bought my Glocks for $495 at a gun show in Houston.
This is the one i went to…

About a year ago, I bought a Glock 19 with night sights for 556$ including tax.
The regular ones were going for 460+ tax, but this was a while ago.
As a general rule, the prices at a gun show are a little cheaper than at a store, but more and more dealers are showing up at gun shows, and their table is just an extension of their store. Most times, they have the same prices you see on their shelves. The exceptions are that a lot of dealers use the shows to dump old guns at a discount, or sell off a lot of used guns. The best deals at a gun show are usually from other individuals. If you see a guy sitting behind a table with a dozen guns, he’s probably thinning out his collection at home, and is usually more amenable to giving you a deal. You need to be careful dealing with individuals because there’s no guarantee like you often get from a dealer, and you need to make sure the gun functions correctly, because chances are you’ll never see him again.
Most dealers I know mark their guns up 10% for gun shows. So usually you will pay more. It is a good place to find some rare hard to find items. You can usually find parts and accessories cheaper though. The ammo is usually a little cheaper at the shows but few dealers can compete with walmart on ammo. I suppose it comes down to availability. Good luck.
You can find good deals at gun shows. Before you go, do some research online and at your local stores to get an idea about market value. Some people can really get ripped off at guns shows.
BTW, good choice on the Glock!
Having dealt and bartered many a firearm at the gun shows my experience has been more than favorable, I have made some really good deals but ya gotta look for em’ and then when you find what your after most of the dealers will bargain with you, especially if you have any firearms that you may be willing to trade in on the deal , but not all will bargain with you no matter what ya buy it’s the price they have on it and that’s it. However most of these dealers already have a very low factory markup on the gun. Then there are the one’s who will try and take you to the bank so beware and stay away from the smooth fast talkers and try and deal with the ole country boy. It’s also a great place to pick up ammo at a better than reasonable price especially if your buying in bulk. You can usually pickup cases of .223, 9mm, 7.62×39 for what amounts to around 3.00 per box in buying in bulk. You can usually find rare ammo and hard to find mounts, rings and tons of other accessories. So go have a good time and find some deals.
P.S. my last show here about 6months ago I had an old 742 remington woodmaster that I didn’t really have a use for any more and wanted to add another handgun to my collection so I did just as I advised you , I knew what I was after and found it at several dealer tables but I kept looking til I found my dealer I wanted, when it was all said and done I walked away with my brand new in factory molded cased .40 cal Springfield xd and 150 rounds of ammo for 250.00 bucks, helluva deal if I do say so myself. Later found a Beamshot laser to mount on it and I must say this is the most ultimate tactical auto-loader I have ever had the pleasure of owning.
Most Glock are between $550 – $575, Springfield XD are $500 – $550 and S&W M&P are $540 – $570 in CA….
As a general rule, prices are the same. The advantages at the show are (1) you can comparison shop a lot of people without having to travel all over the state and (2) once in a blue moon, there will be somebody at the end of the show who’ll lower his price a little to avoid having to cart back home his entire inventory. Don’t hold your breath on #2. Most dealers are going to be taking a truck full back to the store, and it won’t make any difference to them if they’re carting 50 pistols or 49.
Hell No.I found prices about the same or more but you have more choices coz 50 shops under one roof, that’s it !!
