Ok, this question was inspired by a previous one. I am so sick of being ran over by kids in the grocery store and the mall that are wearing Heelys. They seem like a fun thing for kids to play with outdoors. Does anyone else think they should be banned from the store?

I don’t see too many kids skating on them in the stores, but it is kinda dangerous, why would someone let a kid wear them in the store? There are so many corners they could run into, they are better outside, on the sidewalks.
No I don’t think they should banned, I just bought both of my daughters a pair BUT I do think the parents of the kids should pay attention and make sure their kids are not invading other peoples space and running over them. I know I watch my kids very closely and if they are getting too close to people I make them stop.
I can’t even tell you how many times kids on heelys have wheeled out in front of me or other people and I’ve witnessed them crashing into displays and all sorts of things. I don’t mind if a kid is skating on them alongside their mother, but mothers need to teach their kids to have respect for other shoppers. When I’m busy wrangling my own small children, I don’t want to have to worry about someone else’s kid skating in front of me. If you’ve got your kids in the store with you, they need to be WITH you- not four aisles down annoying other people. That’s common courtesy and common sense.
Many stores now have signs prohibiting the use of them inside the store. I think it’s a good idea, b/c accidents do happen. Skating is not something to do inside a store.
2 of mine have them and we did go hopping when they had them on, BUT they were not allowed to use the wheels in shops, when crossing roads or where it was really busy, so basically they skated to and from the shopping centre. Loads of our shops state “no heelies” they are fne wearing them but must not skate in the shop
I’m fifteen years old and a sponsored skater for Heelys.
There are plenty of kids who can use Heelys correctly in a store. There are also plenty of kids who act like idiots on them, which is unfair to kids that use them correctly. It’s exactly like skateboarding. There are kids that skate that are good kids, but there are the “bad” kids that give skateboarding a bad name.
Banning Heelys from should be the personal choice of a store. Stores shouldn’t be forced to ban Heelys. If someone is using Heelys correctly in a store (i.e. not cutting anyone off, not being stupid), the store shouldn’t bother them. If the kid is being stupid, then the store should take action. It’s a parent’s responsibility to watch their child, and it’s the parent’s fault if their kid is being irritating. The store should not only get mad at the child, but at the parent as well.
Just my opinion though..
