I’m 13 years old but I’m thin and short, I’ve never played paintball before, my friend invited me and I’m not sure what to wear.
-Do they give you protective gear/clothing? I don’t have anything I don’t mind getting dirty. Some people say you get them on your own or some paintball places lend you some. If they DO give you gear/clothing, do they give you special boots too?
-Is there a specific height requirement? If so, how tall should you be? [In centimeters, please]
-Does it hurt? I mean, for a thin 13 year old girl? How much does it hurt on a scale from 1 – 10? Is it like getting hit by a wet towel?
-How long is one game/tournament or whatever, or do you get to finish whenever you want?
-Is it better to play indoors or outdoors?
Thanks and sorry for all the questions =]
Hi there man!
Alot of paintball places do give u protective clothing, but its safer to assume that they wont just to be safe. (the mask is always supplied so dont worry about that if you’r planning to rent equipment). Just wear old baggy clothes, like cargo pants and a long sleeve top thats reasonable thick. You can wear any shoes/boots but i prefer to use old boots, because they WILL get really dirty.
There shouldn’t be a height limit, but don’t worry, being smaller is definately an advantage! Makes you harder to hit.
Yeah ill be honest it does hurt a bit (u should try hire a breast protector). But rental guns usually arent very powerful so will sting for a few minutes and leave a nice bruise for a few days. Dont worry its not too bad.
As for indoor or outdoor. Its your choice, i personally prefer outdoors.
Have fun!
Hey, lucky you! You get to go paint-balling!
Don’t worry, paint-balling is perfectly fun and not that dangerous.
Firstly, about the clothing, it’s really up to what kind of place that they provide clothing for you or not. Check with your friend, they should know.
I’m not too sure about protective boots, but people don’t really aim for your feet. You should get some face masks though.
There should be no specific height requirement, this year my school took us to camp and we did paint-balling and everyone was allowed to play. And there are some pretty short people in my year.
The pain factor, ahhh well getting hit by a paint-ball is probably the same amount of pain as a very hard pinch. But it’s only temporary and will go quickly.
I was punctured in the knee once with a paintball and received a blood ring inside my skin, but no outer damage (that’s probably the worst you’ll possibly receive).
Don’t worry too much, paint-balling wouldn’t be fun if it hurt so much!
It also depends on the ranch how long you play for. The time I played, there were two rounds and the people signalled when the rounds finished and started.
It’s far better to play out doors because there is more space to run around.
GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN! =D
Ok. It would be a good idea to wear some old clothes of your own there. They will most likely get dirty. (Dark green/brown, camo stuff is popular). Some places will sell jumpsuits for you to put over your clothes.
All the gear and gun stuff will be provided for you. This includes mask, gun, air cylinder, paintballs.
I don’t think there is a height requirement, I have seen little kids play.
Does it hurt? Yeah, it sort of does. Just try not to get hit in the same place twice. That would be beyond painful. It will leave a bruise where you get hit, not much more than that.
Games are usually short, about 10 minutes, depending on number of people per side and skill level. You play a bunch of games in a day. This way, if you get hit and have to sit out, you get to get back in the next game in a pretty short time period.
Outdoors is best.
i had a chinese friend who played with us, she is quiet small, 150 cm or so.. and they did find gear for her. They gave us masks, and some kind of pullover that did cover all our clothes. So i didn’t get anything on my own clothes. Generally they would make sure there is no skin exposed, so you don’t get a ball right on your skin.
They didn’t give us boots, so if you have any hiking boots or sport shoes, wear them. The dye i got on the boots did wash away easily..
I never played it indoors, perhaps it is laser indoors? But outdoors was a lot of fun.. i recommend outdoors.
For being hurt, yes, it does. I got a bruise on my leg for a whole week after wards.. It also depends if it is winter and if therefore you have a lot of clothing on you or not.. If it is summer and you only have a T shirt inside, then expect to be hurt, if hit.. Some hits just touch you (because they are shot from far ) But there are always a few hits that you may get from close up.
It would be like being hit by a baseball thrown 3-4 meters ahead.. it can bruise, but it is not so bad..
About the game, you play until you run out of amunition. We played about 4-5 games of 15 minutes, then you give breaks to load your gun and change strategies.. Each game is played in a different field…
it was worth the fun for me!
1.Yes you can rent protecitve gear because if the don’t have a rental for that they can get sued for any injuries caused(I think).
2.The shorter the better ’cause it makes it easier for you to hide behind the bunker.
3.It may leave you a bruise(considering that the tank is full of air)but it dosen’t hurt much.1 and a half out of 10.
4.Different matches vary.Sometimes there is no limit you only have to eliminate your opponents.Ask the referee if you want to know.
5.If the weather is good you can play outdoors. But if theres bad weather you should play indoors.
And by the way,I’m just 12 thin and short, but that didn’t give any disatvantage.

no most places you have to bring your own saftey gear or rent it. you really only need a mask.
no hight requierment.
it hurts for a couple seconds. on a scale one to ten ill say about 3. when you get shot you walk off the field. and there about 10-15 min.
i personally like outdoors.
