Jetboil personal cooking system

Review and testing of the fantasic jetboil personal cooking system. Its lightweight and self contained system is great for the day hike or extended treks. Very effecient cooking system and will boil 2 cups of water in under a minute. I’ve not used mine in the field yet, but I can already see that it will be an asset. If used for boiling water for trail meals or for making a snack, it is great.

i have that pouch, and my JetBoil doesn’t fit. i don’t know if they made the pack smaller or the JetBoil bigger. It’s a hair too small.

I’ve had it for a few months now and have taken it on several outings and find it works fantastic in any enviornment. Also I think that LA Police Gear have the 5.11 bag on sale for like $18. Not sure if the sale is still going on, but it is a very durable and high quality item. Thanks for your comment!

I’ve used the JetBoil in the field, I’ve used the frying pan to cook up some eggs and REI sells a french press to make coffee that works pretty good as well. Awesome video and I’ll have to check out the 5.11 bag.

Yeah man, its a perfect fit. The good thing was that i had it on my backpack and didnt use it for anything until now.

Man, the Jetboil fits really well in that pouch!

Hi, I cant find the tag where it says it was made, but mine say “field tested by VTAC” on it. My pouch came with the 5.11 72 hour pack. Also maybe my jetboil was new and maybe the neoprene was just that much tighter agains the jetboil? Not really sure.

thats so strange. i just got the 5.11 h2o carrier pouch today and its such a chore to get the jetboil in. the neoprene sleeve rides up as i try to push it down into the pouch and when the handle has to go its gets super tight.

i have no problem taking the jetboil out, just getting it in the pouch.

could be that 5.11 pouches have different quality checks. mine is OD and made in vietnam.

anyways thanks for the quick reply.

Hi, as you can see in the video, I had absolutely no problems taking my jetboil out of the 5.11 holder. It is also simple to put it back in. Maybe you have a different model 5.11 container? I know mine is quite new and has not been strecthed out, but it fits perfectly.

    cool review + video! =]

i just have a quick question:

howd you get the jetboil to fit in the 5.11 h20 carrier? i have the same pouch and it takes me quite abit of time to get the jetboil in. problem is that the neoprene cozy keeps riding up cause its such a tight fit. i dont see how you would say “like it was made for it”

Got it as a package with a compact skillet and utensils from an ebay store for $125 shipped.
