1911s are very safe guns to carry cocked and locked. It just eases my mind to know that the thumb safety will stay put. Thanks for the comment.

I hear what you are saying about the thumbreak deactivating the thumb saftey, i have had it happen to me, even though there is still the grip saftey, I always think about what if the grip saftey failed for some reason, can you imagine an accidental discharge!!!??? I would hate to have that happen. Chances are it wont happen but it could i guess. So anyway, i opted to carry my ultra carry II in a non retention holster, it works good, and the saftey stays on. Just scary to me when safety is off!

Hi, what a wierd coincidence because the videos about Comp-Tac are just loading right now. I’ve got three vids loading and should be finish shortly. First vid is the initial thoughts on the Comp-Tac, second is showing how well it conceals and the last is the comparison between the crossbreed and Comptac Minotaur. Please be patient and all three videos should be up by tonight.

Thank for the video! very informative. I am between the crossbreed and comptac minatour. wondering if you received your comptac and what you thought of it compared to the crossbreed. the one thing i like about the comptac is that you can switch out the shell for different guns for roughly $38. Thanks again.

    @chanderson1
Thanks again for all the information — you really do a great job. I’ll give Crossbreed a call and see what they say.

  6. chanderson1 says:

Hi, sorry I forgot to answer that. I really dont know since I’ve dont have the intergrated laser on mine. I just put my kimber in the holster and mine has the hogue panels. From what I am seeing it looks like you may clear that. I would really suggest calling crossbreed just to make sure though. Really hard to say since I cant physically check it for clearance.

  7. gssaic says:

@chanderson1 Do you think I’ll have any issues with the integrated laser or will it fit ok?

  8. chanderson1 says:

Thanks. I was a little weary at first with carrying the Kimber cocked and locked so I just carried it the first week without anything in the chamber to see if the safety would come down. It never did and it never has, so I feel very confident carrying it cocked and locked. It is still a great holster. I’ve got a CompTac Minotaur on order. When I receive it, I will do a comparison between the two. I dont think I’ve seen a video on this yet. Thanks for the comment!

  9. gssaic says:

Great video. I’m going to order a Crossbreed today. Do you worry about the Kimber being cocked and locked with the Crossbreed? Also, I have the Kimber Pro Carry II – do you think there will be any issue with the laser fitting in the holster (the laser is integrated with the grip)?

  10. chanderson1 says:

Thanks, its a great little gun. It’s a Kimber PRO CDP II with a HOGUE finger grooved grip. You can find the grip easily on ebay. I still have my crossbreed and I still think it is the most comfortable holster out there. I’ve got the CompTac Minatour on order and I should be recieving it shortly. Once I get it, I’ll do a comparison between the Crossbreed and CompTac. Thanks for the comment!

Dude i love that Kimber. What model is it and where can i get one of those grips? I have a Ultra carry II and i love it. Please let me know. Nice review. im about to get a crossbreed myself. Thanks

  12. chanderson1 says:

I agree, it ls a very comfortable holster.

  13. arbshaw73 says:

Just got my supertuck on friday…best holster ever….i acutally forget im wearing it.

  14. chanderson1 says:

No this isn’t the combat cut. I was wearing it this way for a little while. I cut it myself and made my own combat cut.

  15. jabarrett07 says:

    is that combat cut?

  16. chanderson1 says:

Thanks! Yeah it has served me well. Although its funny that you mention that you cut the flap for better grip because I did the same thing to mine. I found out in time that its better to get the combat cut after all. I still wear it daily but I’ve got the comp-tac minatour coming in soon. I just wanted to try out another similar product and maybe compare the two. Appreciate your comment!

  17. mojothemigo says:

I’ll back up everything you said on the crossbreed. I use it to carry an all steel government model.

One thing, I cut off half of the flap so I could get a better grip.

kholster 10% off discount code 01-3007 for 10% off include the code under special instructions on the order page

  19. chanderson1 says:

when i wear it at 3 O’clock it does slightly, so i just move it back a few inches and that solves the problem.

  20. txson41 says:

Do you find that the bottom front of the holster digs in to your leg,i got my saturday in the mail and the few hrs i worn it was digging some. ?

  21. chanderson1 says:

Hi, the crossbreed does have some adjustments for canting, but no where near to the point of a SOB though. Sorry, I’ve not owned any SOB holsters, so I couldnt really give you any suggestions.

  22. paikmendez says:

is there a good SOB holster for the G19. can this crossbreed be canted enough to use as a SOB and have the pistol nearly inverted?

  23. chanderson1 says:

I like taking the gun courses offered at my local range. It helps you develope some very fundamental shooting skills, plus the advanced courses are quite fun. Practice, practice, practice

  24. navyglockfan says:

You shouldn’t need an “advanced handgun course” to know to carry a sidearm in condition 1…. that’s with a round in the chamber for you civilians out there.

  25. chanderson1 says:

Yeah your right. They have a great warranty and excellent customer service!!
