http://www.survivalistboards.com/ While looking for a more compact fanny pack then the one I am using right now, I came across the maxpedition versipack.
Its not very often that I am impressed by a product. But the versipack seems to be an outstanding and durable piece of equipment.

There are several things that I liked about this pack:
Heavy duty zippers
Attachment points for extra gear
1000-Denier
YKK zippers
Paracord for the zipper cords
And, a 2 quart canteen fits on the backside of the pack.
Everything that I needed for day hike, was able to fit into the pack.

I wouldn’t be surprised that the pack can fit a 2-quart canteen and alot of other stuff. Besides being bought by Hikers and civilians, they also are bought by alot of Military Contractor’s and security agencies. They serve well for people like that, dependable and reliable even for a pack.

Do you find that a full canteen mounted in that configuration is cumbersome given the center of gravity being low and away from the body? I might be inclined to mount the canteen on the fanny pack straps at my hip.
I typically wear my compass around my neck and under my outer shirt. Also, I prefer the sturdy bic brand lighter instead of matches – it’s like having a thousand matches and an extra flint.

I find Topographical maps and a compass better than GPS. Mainly because I grew up using them. But, thats me. Nice video, that pack seems ideal
