Dude, you’re good to go! I write screenplays myself, but you, you’re pretty much set for some action! Now all you need is the skills!

To make anything approaching Broadcast Quality your video camera must be a 3-CCD device (compare one with a single "chip" camera to see why), a sturdy tripod with a remote camera control device and at least one good noise cancelling microphone on a long lead (hang it above your actors for best sound pick up). A decent white light might be useful too for controlling shadows. Less than this and the best you’ll get is a competent home-movie. It won’t cost much, enjoy.

Experience.
Minimum equipment would be a couple of empty cornflake packets – a roll of stickyback plastic and one or two empty toilet roll tubes. Just remember that if you need to cut the cornflake packet with scissors, always make sure that theres an adult close by. If I was you I’d make an epic war film or something along the lines of Lord of the Rings – You may need more than 2 empty cornflake packets though!! Good luck with that and hopefully we will see it when it premieres in all its glory!!
