What are some good camping activities for kids ages 5-9?

I am going camping with several children this weekend and would like some good activities to capture their attention. The last thing I want to hear out in the woods is “i’m bored”. With having to overcome PSP’s and Wii’s, how can I make the outdoors fun for this generation?
I have looked on the net but only found even what I would consider lame ideas: watch the clouds, find a bug, play tic-tac-toe.
Help please?
1. Fishing- they might not want to sit for that long, however.
2. Shoot a bb gun- I never met a kid who didn’t want to do this. If you don’t have one, you can get one for 40 to 50 dollars.

4. Riding in a canoe
Bring a ball along and play kick ball, Monkey in the Middle, etc.
Go hiking and let the kids pick up leaves, sticks, pine cones, etc and then let them make a craft with what the found.
Go Fishing
Make smores, hot dogs, mountain pies, etc over the fire.
Let them help gather fire wood and whoever gathers the most gets the first smore, hot dog, etc.
Watch the clouds and see what kind of shapes you can make from them.
Go Swimming
